Wesley Snipes To Pay Tax Trial Costs

A federal judge in Ocala, Fla. ruled Thursday that Wesley Snipes must pay more than $217,000 to reimburse the government for the costs of prosecuting his tax evasion case.

According to witnesses, the car Morgan Freeman was driving in Ruleville, Mississippi at 11:30pm Sunday, careened off the road and flipped end over end several times before landing on its wheels in a ditch. Morgan suffered a broken arm, shattered elbow and minor damage to his shoulder. As of yesterday he had undergone surgery to correct the damage, and although still listed in 'serious condition' was said to be in good spirits. No word on his passenger, Demaris Meyer, who is said to be a friend of Morgan's wife Myrna.

Remy Ma, who is barely 3 months into an 8 year sentence for shooting her friend Makeda Barnes-Joseph in the abdomen over a missing $3,000.00, has hired high powered attorney William “Billy” Murphy Jr. to appeal her felonious assault, weapons possession, and attempted coercion convictions.

Murphy gained national recognition in 1998, after winning an acquittal of fight promoter Don King on federal charges of defrauding Lloyd’s of London. Murphy, a senior partner in the Murphy Firm based in Baltimore, has represented rappers DMX, Missy Elliott, Red Man, and Mary J. Blige.

Remy says, “With the addition of Mr. Murphy, Ravenell and Levitt, I now believe I have assembled a team that will have the might and expertise to tell my side of the story. I am confident that after hearing everything my side will prevail. Mr. Murphy comes highly recommended and I am pleased that he has agreed to lead my defense team.”

Da Brat Plea Deal In The Works?

According to Sandra Rose, Da Brat is expected to take a plea deal regarding that chick she smashed in the head with a rum bottle on Halloween at Jermaine Dupri's club Studio 72. Supposedly she will get one year for assault [click here and here if you don't know about it]. Sandra didn't seem absolutely positive about her info, and really I just wanted an excuse to post another picture of Da Brat looking smoking hot.

50 And Marquis Are Together As We Speak

50 Cent finally got a chance to spend some time with his son. He picked Marquis up yesterday and will have him until the middle of next week, when he has to leave the country to film a movie.

50 and Shaniqua are due back in court in September to settle a restraining order.

This is the chick who was riding with Morgan Freeman yesterday when he drove into a ditch and flipped his car over. Actually it was the chicken's car. Her name is Demaris Meyer and she's a "close friend" of Morgan's wife Myrna. Incidentally, the National Enquirer ran a story in July about Myrna seeking a divorce from Morgan claiming, "Myrna was terribly upset when she heard Morgan had become intimate with a woman who had been her friend."

Morgan Freeman In Serious Accident

Academy Award winning actor Morgan Freeman was involved in a serious car accident Sunday night in north Mississippi.

Mississippi Highway Patrol spokesperson Ben Williams said Freeman and a female passenger were traveling eastbound on Mississippi Highway 32 in Tallahatchie County when his vehicle went off the edge of the road. Freeman overcorrected, flipping his 1997 Nissan Maxima several times before coming to a rest.

Emergency crews extracted Freeman and his passenger from their vehicle using the jaws of life. According to Williams, they were both airlifted to the Regional Medical Center in Memphis, where Freeman was listed in serious condition Monday morning.

The condition of Freeman's passenger has not been released.

Remember last week when Snoop Dogg's tour bus got pulled over for having expired tags, and in the process of writing a ticket cops smelled weed, which they used as probable cause to search the bus where they found 2lbs of weed, which Snoops boy's valiantly took the fall for? Snoop's lawyer says the bus' tags were not expired.

Was There A Shooting Or Not

There was. This past weekend Jermaine Dupri took over Atlanta for his annual So So Def Weekend. The weekend long party hop is a non stop celebration including a celebrity basketball game, a star studded bowling tournament and of course, a bunch of club parties. Anyway, this year, like last year, there was a shooting at one of the clubs, or was there? While various news outlets and pictures from Atlpics.net seemed to support the shooting allegations, at first JD's people released a statement claiming the loud pop heard in the club, that sent celebs like P Diddy, Nia Long, Sanna Lathan, LisaRaye and Da Brat scrambling, was nothing more than a speaker popping or maybe a champagne cork. That explanation, however, did not explain how a bouncer got grazed on the arm by a bullet. JD and 'nem finally had to admit were was indeed a shooting, but that it was an isolated incident. JD told the press, "I'm sad this incident happened because it interrupted a beautiful and loving party. But I'm happy none of my people or friends got hurt. And the party continues."
