over payment for working on the Thriller Video. Landis filed suit in Los Angeles last week, claiming he has a deal in place with Mike in which he's entitled to 50 per cent of the net profits from the video he directed and related material. In court documents, the director accuses Michael of "fraudulent, malicious and oppressive conduct" for failing to pay up.

Lisa Raye Says

in an interview with Essence Magazine about people calling her ghetto : "I am not and never grew up in the ghetto. People need to get it right. I grew up on the Southside of Chicago. What people don't realize is that my father was a multimillionaire who owned 12 hotels, motels, a steel mill, a radio station, a club, nursing home, and a law office. So I think it's safe to say I'm a little above middle class and I'm a daddy's girl. I make no apologies for loving the finer things in life or the men I choose to date. I don't feel bad about the person I am. Now, I do have an edge, rawness and realness, and I can tell you I'm going to keep that. I'm one of those women who's not to be messed with. I'm very opinionated and boisterous at times. I'm also kind and humble. I know when to fold and when to hold and that's important. If my edge scares you, then you have a choice to remove yourself. Other than that, I'm very approachable, and when people meet me they always say, "You are so down to earth and nothing like I thought you were."

Choke No Joke

Trying to stir up interest in his upcoming Roc-A-Fella documentary, Choke No Joke reveals what everybody already knows that one of the reasons behind the Dame Dash / Jay Z clash was Aaliyah. Choke tells Hip Hop Weekly, "Both Jay and Dame was involved with a certain R&B singer, who I'm not gonna say her name out of respect 'cause she ain't around to defend herself, but I believe that was a part of the initial friction. I was seeing Jay with her back around 2000, then Dame was with her after. All you have to do is look at the movie they did, Death of a Dynasty. In the movie they were fighting over a model. In real life she was a model, but singing is what she was known for first."

Fab's Credit Cards Declined

NY rapper Fabolous showed up at an Atlanta restaurant with about twenty of his Street Family pals and settled in to party. When the manager asked for a credit card to start the tab, Fab offered one up but it was promptly declined. So he offered another, and another and ANOTHER, and they were declined too. After the FIFTH declined card, one of Fabs people was sent out to the car to, I don't know, get another card? Anyway, the runner got into a fight with the outside bouncer and "somehow" tripped and cracked his head open on the sidewalk. An ambulance was called but when the paramedics showed up accompanied by cop cars, the dude jumped up and ran away with blood pouring down his face. Didn't stop the party though. Fab and them partied on, only they paid with cash.

Behind the Scenes On The House of Dereon Spring Collection Shoot

My Bad

You guys, this story is MAD old, like 2 years old. But I'm leaving it up. Carry on. Don P of Atlanta-based rap trio Trillville was arrested last week in DeKalb County, Georgia, for the alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl. According to a DeKalb County Police spokesperson, the rapper (real name: Donnell Prince) was charged with rape and two counts of aggravated sodomy, all of which are felonies.
According to police, the attack happened on December 16 in an apartment in Lithonia, Georgia, which is near Atlanta. Prince was one of 10 guests attending a small gathering at the apartment. "Allegedly, [the victim] was raped in a bedroom by two partygoers, Mr. Prince being one of them," said Cory Hughes, Dekalb County's public information officer. "We are still trying to identify the other individual who was involved. [The victim] said this was not a consensual act." Moments after the assault, the girl left the gathering with a friend and reported the rape to police. By the time officers arrived on the scene, most of the guests had left. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
Prince's attorney, Keith Adams, said "there's absolutely no basis whatsoever" for his client's arrest. "None of the seven or eight witnesses who were there, in the apartment, agree with what the young lady said occurred," Adams said. "She came to the location with a young man, looking to meet [Don P]. She met him, there was a consensual encounter between herself and Mr. Prince, and there was a consensual encounter between herself and another gentleman. There were individuals who were in the room at the time this alleged rape was supposed to have occurred."
He said Don P remains in police custody, but that a bond hearing has been scheduled for Wednesday morning. "We're optimistic [Prince] will be released tomorrow, and we look forward to either fighting this thing or waiting for the district attorney to make the right decision and dismiss the charges."
