Carey and Nicki Minaj went at it during the first "A.I." taping Sunday in NYC. When Nicki started critiquing a contestant, Mariah would interrupt -- not once, but many times. Each time Mariah interrupted, Nicki fought back by loudly talking over Mariah.
One "A.I." spy said Mariah and Nicki tried to cover their disdain for each other but everyone saw through it, adding, "These girls just don't like each other."

Mariah needs to get over herself. If she doesn't like most of Nicki's music then she needs to get in the studio and make some new music. I don't listen to Nicki Minaj's music but I don't knock her either. Even if you don't care for someone you can still be civil.

I have to say, AI set Mariah up BIG time...they knew they were going to go after Nicki or some other female judge & had Mariah thinking she was going to be the only "female" diva on the show like JLo was (I know JLo is probably tickled pink about this)...I've said it once & I'll say it again, this show is not about the contestants, it's all about the judges!!!!!!!!

If I was in the music biz for 23 yrs, sold 200 albums worldwide, actually sing, produce my stuff and am brought in to judge a show whereas I take it seriously...then to report to work the first day next to a walking minstrel show who not only disrespects fellow rappers/artists, fans, as well as herself with a shallow attitude of course I'd be pissed off! Mariah was probably trying to come correct with valid criticisms and Nicki was trying to do her usual "Sideshow Bobette" act. C'mon! Really Idol? I think they wanted to play up drama but it's going to turn into nothing but a hot ghetto mess.
