Joakim Noah Arrested In Florida

Police arrested Chicago Bulls forward Joakim Noah, son of famous tennis player Yannick Noah, May 25 in Gainesville, Fla. on charges of possession of marijuana and having an open container of alcohol. According to police, Joakin was walking down the street carrying a clear plastic cup with an "iced amber-colored" drink, that he put on the ground when he saw police headed his way. When the cops discovered the drink was Hennesy, Noah was taken to an area police station where they found one joint inside a cigarette package in his pants. Kayne West, Common, Method Man and Redman are being sued by the daughter of a jazz musican because they did not get permission from his estate to use samples of his music. DMX Pleads Not Guilty

After showing up for court 1 hour late, DMX pleaded not guilty to felony drug possession and misdemeanor animal cruelty charges yesterday. The 37-year-old rapper was indicted last week on 11 counts, including felony marijuana and paraphernalia possession and seven counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty. The charges stem from an August raid by authorities investigating if he was neglecting 12 pit bulls at his Phoenix home. Some were dehydrated and appeared to be underfed. Three were found buried in his back yard.

Lil Kim Wins Lawsuit Against Lil Cease

Rapper Lil' Kim was awarded a half-million-dollars yesterday after a judge ruled that former Junior Mafia member Lil Cease used Kim's name and image without her permission for a DVD. Manhattan federal Judge Jed Rakoff found that Cease and his company, Ground Zero Entertainment, wrongly capitalized on Kim's fame when they made a film about Junior Mafia. Kim originally had filed a $6 million suit against Cease, who testified against her in a criminal trial that ended with her conviction for lying to a grand jury.
