R.I.P. Terry Carter

When I was a child and a celebrity died, my paternal grandmother would always mention in passing, without fail, that celebrities died in threes and a macabre clock would start ticking in the back of my mind as she starting paying closer attention to daily news reports for confirmation.

Almost always, after a few days or so, two more celebrities would pass and she would look at me and say, "See, I told you," but not in a self-satisfied smug way. More in a I know what I'm talking about so you better be listening to me way. 

Unfortunately we have our third this week.
