Alfonso Ribeiro Suing Epic Games

Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star Alfonso Ribeiro suing the makers of the popular Fortnite video game for using "the Carlton dance" without permission...

 From People Magazine
“It is widely recognized that Mr. Ribeiro’s likeness and intellectual property have been misappropriated by Epic Games in the most popular video game currently in the world, Fortnite,” Ribeiro’s lawyer David L. Hecht tells PEOPLE in a statement.
“Epic has earned record profits off of downloadable content in the game, including emotes like ‘Fresh.’ Yet Epic has failed to compensate or even ask permission from Mr. Ribeiro for the use of his likeness and iconic intellectual property.”
“Therefore, Mr. Ribeiro is seeking his fair and reasonable share of profits Epic has earned by use of his iconic intellectual property in Fortnite and as a result is requesting through the courts that Epic cease all use of Mr. Ribeiro’s signature dance,” the statement concluded.

Fortnite is also accused of stealing distinctive dances from actor Donald Faison, rapper 2 Milly and social media celebrity "The Backpack Kid."

Fortnite users pay cash to enable their avatars to dance while playing the game.

lol i always forget he is actually a professionally trained dancer. he even makes that corny dance look smooth. i would hope by now he has trademarked that. maybe he can't because of the song he uses to dance to.

Anyone surprised? I had to pull up the milly rock video to show my son that Fortnite didn't come up with that dance on their own

He admitted he stole it from Courtney Cox in that Springsteen video, like Ron said. How you gonna sue for something you already admitted stealing?

Alfonso Ribeiro: "Every time you see me in a club, guess who I walk out with?"

Some guy: "Who?"

Alfonso Ribeiro: "A lovely blonde white chick".
