Vanessa Bryant Files Wrongful Death Lawsuit

Last month retired NBA legend Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna, along with 7 others, were killed when their helicopter went down in foggy weather [click here if you missed that].

Vanessa Bryant files a lawsuit against the helicopter company...

According to reports Kobe's widow Vanessa Bryant filed a wrongful death lawsuit against the helicopter company just hours before his televised memorial on Monday.

Vanessa is seeking unspecified damages accusing the helicopter operator of failing "to use ordinary care in piloting the subject aircraft."

I don't blame her one bit, she lost her husband and daughter, someone has to be held accountable for this terrible tragedy.

And here y'all were so worried for her that she was going to be sued by the other victims (remember them?) and leave her and his girls poor and destitute.
1. It was a pilot of Kobe's choice that he had used many times before
2. If it was foggy, there were FIVE other adults as well as Kobe that could have determined the conditions were unsafe. How do we know they didn't coerce the pilot to fly?

Are you kidding me? This selfish narcissist made the whole service about her, she omitted his black family, as if they didn't matter. Kobe's wealth will benefit only her family, it's shameful how he mistreated his only family, while elevating hers. I will never understand such blatant disrespect. My heart goes out to Kobe's parents and sibling. It's a known fact that Vanessa is a vile and nasty woman. She flaunts her wealth and status, while humiliating and asserting her power over others. Why do we hand over our wealth to other cultures? She's selling off his cars, and he's not even in his grave yet. I cannot stand this racist witch!

I said it before in the other thread and I will say it again. When I watched the memorial, I realized how deep the rift was between Kobe and his parents and now Vanessa. If it were not for them, Vanessa wouldn't have the millions she has today. She would probably be on the side rode selling tacos somewhere.

At the end of the day, Kobe's parents lost a child too, not just Vanessa. But I guess she was too busy being petty and vindictive to make that correlation in her speech.

And even if the parents were too grief stricken to speak, you can't tell me that not one person on Kobe's side was not willing to talk about his life BEFORE he became a superstar.

Well like somebody said before, Kobe taught her to be that way. Now those kids will probably never see their grandparents SMH!

As for the filing of the lawsuit, I would have done the same thing since it came out that the pilot violated FAA rules by doing the same previously that caused this accident, so the pilot knew better.

10:52 right! Are their names also on the lawsuit?

It will be interesting to see who her next catch will be.

And yes I do believe Vanessa is a narcissist because it reared its ugly head at the memorial.

It's a preventative measure to ensure Kobe's estate is not sued by the family of the other passengers for the pilots error. Educate yourselves so you don't sound so ignorant on this post.

This narcissist right here! Never liked her never will. What kind of hair style did she have????? So you do a private funeral but choose a public venue to talk about YOU.

I'm sure all of the families are still grieving over their loved ones but when the dust clears, I won't be surprised if lawsuits will start flying everywhere because when it comes to money the gloves are off!

@11:16 That literally makes no sense. You pedantic ignoramus.

You could tell Vanessa was suffering. I couldn't tell what was going on with that hair ... it looked shaved on the side and it was all in her face. And she looked big as a house. Bless her heart.

Vanessa can sue whomever she likes just like the families of all the other victims have every right to sue Kobe's estate if he was the one who chartered and paid for that helicopter ride.So since she opened the floodgates I hope she's prepared for a long battle. Let the lawsuits begin!

All that I noticed in the memorial was the fact that she never shed a single tear, and her left eye was covered during her entire speech. This woman knows that her husband and her daughter were sacrificed, and she is okay with that.

They (her family) only got Kobe thru Palo/Santeria. She’s not that attractive...her mother practices and so does Vanessa. What spirits did they call upon?

@ ms. mac thank you! For some reason people think Kobe is untouchable even in death and I'm not sure why? Is it because he had money and celebrity? Okaaayy. People can always go after a person's estate. It does not mean they will win but they can file none the less.

Kobe is NOT exempt from any lawsuit. Like @10:52 am said how do we know Kobe didn't try to coerce the pilot to fly to get to the game sooner rather than later? I believe because Kobe used this pilot several times before and he trusted him, the other families did the same and flew anyway. And the way my comment is not ignorant!

I disagree. I think Vanessa is very pretty but she has gone the way of every wealthy wife in Cali and gone crazy with the Botox and fillers. Her face looks mad puffy and her lips extra big. Aging gracefully is rare in their world. Despite all that, she still among the prettiest basketball wives.

We all get it. You cape for all latinas, and dog black women. Fuck all those bean eaters. You told us that you snore in the face of dominican men every night.

Agree 10:52 but she will probably get something. Reminds me of the circumstances surrounding Aaliyah's death but we don't know if she has a solid case. All we know is he flew in bad weather conditions. I'm sure TMZ been digging for dirt on this pilot since they broke the news, but so far nothing bad have been said yet. Time will tell.

She's pure trash, no class or decorum. I mean her makeup was beyond tragic, and so was her narcissistic speech about herself. Just yuck! And Beyonce shenanigans with consoling her. Just too tacky, they are both tired and obese. Kobe should not have married below his pedigree. The beautiful African Lawyer was not good enough, he wanted to obliterate or omit his own race, heritage and culture. He did not identify, he made his stance quite clear throughout his life, surrounded himself with everything but black. I'm so disappointed. My condolences to his mother, father and siblings. Forget the gold digger that's going to take his fortune over to her community. What a way to end a legacy. Everything that he worked relentlessly for, his own family will not benefit. Kobe was selfish in life and now in death.

We’ll see how that goes because if my family died on that helicopter I’d be suing every damn body. The other 8 families will be suing too.

I second my sister's comment @12:36. Let's be clear your input is not needed, nor is it wanted. Take your hateful rhetoric elsewhere! Implying or insinuating that you are better than us.
