Mr. Penniman rest in eternal peace. I have so many memories of you as a little girl. You were always so feisty to me. Thank you for what you did for music; particularly rock and roll. There would be no Elvis Presley if it were not for Little Richard. Those crackers will forever be thieves..
Also, rest in peace Andre Harrell. Another contributor to R&B and HipHop. Moreso, a big asset to 90's music; the soundtrack of my life. You put so many people on and will be missed.
So happy for this post. A great man has died who deserves all the respect one can give and more.Just checked through his body of work and my mind is blown away considering that from 1956 to 1958, he brought out monumental music that laid the groundwork for rock and roll which cannot be matched.
Little Richard was a handsome man with a lovely voice (when he wasn’t whoopin’ and hollarin’). On slow ballads (Send Me Some Lovin) he sounded like another singer. He’s known for his flamboyance but he’s really one of the founders of rock and roll.
And if it wasn’t for the Little Richards of the world, white people would still be doing the two step.
RIP Little Richard loved the energy and tenacity he brought to the mainstream. I especially loved him at award shows giving folks the business. Y'all ain't never gave me nothing! They were laughing but he wasn't joking. He finally got a honorary award some years back and he was touched by the moment.
Rock music is black music--> this is for all the dumb niggas who call a black person "white" for being a punk rocker and for all the crackas who think they run the rock genre. Fuck Elvis--- long live Little Richard! RIP!
