Salt 'N Pepa Deny Excluding Spinderella

Last month Salt 'N Pepa DJ Spinderella called out  Cheryl 'Salt'  James and  Sandy 'Pepa' Denton for erasing her from their Lifetime biopic [click here if you missed that].

Salt N' Pepa deny the claims...

Salt tells People Magazine
“I reached out to Spinderella; I feel like this is very unfortunate. We’ve come to a crossroads where we have decided to agree to disagree. I definitely am open and Pepa’s open. We’ve talked about it and our hearts are open, have always been open to Spinderella.”
“As far as the public is concerned, I’m really happy about the people who know that they don’t know everything. There’s six sides to every story. We just hope that we can come to some sort of resolution in the future. You never know. You never know what God is doing.”

Meanwhile Pepa claims the movie mostly focused on her and Salt's relationship in college before they met Spin.

Well that was nice tidy Godly way to say fuck Spin.

This just goes to show you how petty Salt and Pepa really are. They know damn well Spin was an integral part of the group. Instead, they acting like Spin barely existed. But you never win when you play dirty. In my Nene voice.

I hope Salt spends as much time looking for her neck.

^^^Right...They only addressing it bc fans lit their asses up on Twitter...You can't erase Spin. That's not "woman empowerment". That's shady & greedy. Like, damn Spin can get a lil slice of the pie...She can't eat too?!
RUN DMC would've never did that to JMJ

11:45 I hope you find your soul.

Then they wonder why one is a lil Porker and the other ones ass is hung high like a pocketbook. They want to be so deep yet never evolved into anything to speak of.

At least Wendy's movie helped it make sense these two came off like lying ass bitches. The part about empowering women. Mmmmkay.

They did Spin dirty and their asses knew, they were dead ass wrong.

I hope you locate your brain. I know the sound of one pea rattling around in your big head gets to be annoying.

Anonymous said...

^ A strong empowered woman would locate the one miserable pea and smash it the fuck outta there.

S and P, embarrassed themselves by trying to rewrite HISTORY!!! I mean if Gucci and Jeezy could be in the same room. These two assholes couldn't at least fake squash shit publicly for that check.

@11:47
We all know who ate all the pie just look at her, Salt she is fat as ever. Pepa we all know she's spending all her pie on ugly wigs, plastic surgery, and she still looks likes a tranny.

12:03pm
When the empty headed woman smashes the pea her funky fat ass eats it. Now she's still out here trying to locate a brain, asshole.

Since they want to rewrite shit they need to rebrand and call themselves Biscuits and Gravy. Just wobbling and gobbling around the stage.

What story does Spin have to tell?

Ya'll are letting Salt have it. LOLOLOLOL

Fat shamers are just insecure miserable wretches who have to shame others in order to feel good about themselves. Keep that same energy on judgement day.

11:56 At least I have a brain you brain dead waste of dna. Take that filthy spirit and go crawl back under the rock from whence you came. Salt on a bad day is still more beautiful and relevant than you. She doesn't even know your hatin ass exists.

1:47 Youre hilarious omg!!! Im dying over here.

Plus they deserve it. I hope they got lit up on Twitter. Salt is a nasty bitch and Peppa just follows her around with her broad shoulders and bad plastic surgery. Plus Ive been hearing she has a drug problem. Fuck them, Spins better off!

Basically, Salt and Pepa are wrong. Spin was with them since 1987 when she was 16 years old. I remember because I was about 8.They should have treated her better because the group was only 2 years old when she replaced Latoya. So, essentially she's been with them the entire time getting used. It's not like a person joining the Ojays in 2000 saying they were left out of a movie, she was literally there the entire time. I bet Spin got ripped off alot. She should've out grown them but they probably played her alot because she was so young. Herbie played them and they played Spin. I know she's heart broken 30 plus years and no acknowledgment.

Anonymous said...

If they felt she wasn't an integral part of the group, why didn't they say so in the 1980s? Why wait until half the woman's life is over to tell her she was just an independent contractor? She went through her teen years with them, young adulthood, and her grown @ss woman years with them. Why wait till she's 50 to do that? When did she become insignificant is what I want to know because I always enjoyed seeing her, she was like the little sister. Chili and Tboz didn't do that to Lisa and she never sang, just an occasional rap verse but she was still important.

The only shame is your fat ass has ZERO discipline and you WON"T push your fat ass from the dinner table.
Don't get mad because you have no self-control, willpower over your eating.
Logoff and take your fat ass on over to overeaters anonymous. There is help out there for you.

Don't compare Spinderella to Jam Master Jay or Jazzy Jeff or DJ Premier or Red Alert or D Nice. THEY ARE REAL DJ's who mastered their craft! She had decades to elevate her craft and make herself indispensable but she didn't. She was in one of the best female hip hop groups and her skills remained less than mediocre.

Anonymous said...

Its not that she was the greatest DJ but there was something to add about her being young, black and learning to mix records or who inspired her. She was there with them many nights overhearing Salt throwing up in the bathroom and Pepa fucking the groupies. They coulda added what made them want a female DJ to add to the group instead of a male. They just scratched all over that. Fuck em. #YamandPotatoes. The Remix.

6:09 Shut up you ignorant bitch. Half your family is probably overweight. No one cares about your immature hatred of so called fat people. People like you laugh at handicapped children and cripples. Anything to make your sorry ass feel superior. You're the bottom of the bottom. Lowest of the low. If you spent more time developing a solid personality and some morals and values you wouldn't be so pressed to insult people simply based on their weight. Keep it up one day the people you ridicule will some day be you!

@2:24pm
Don't worry about me you fat bitch. Your sloppy fat ass will be dead from hypertension, clogged arteries, obesity. Fat people like you want to make obesity normal it's not going to happen. By the way your the one who sounds jealous of non-fat folks.
A FAT hit hog will always holler and here you come waddling along.
You have NO morals nor values you come to a GOSSIP BLOG everyday to insult folks. Your fat ass can't even get out the bed so you spend all your time on RWS with your 5 sock puppets, they are the only friends you have.

They addressed the male DJ issue in the movie. Herbie thought a female DJ would add an element no one else had. He was still their DJ even when the 1st Spinderella was on the scene and he was definitely still DJ and producer when the 2nd Spinderella was picked. She was just a pretty face that rode the gravy train till the wheels fell off. She never capitalized on her good fortune by becoming good at her job. She didn't pull her weight. They should have axed her a long time ago. She's definitely dead weight now that the money ain't the same. No pun intended.

@5:34,Salt and Pepa, if you two felt that way then why was her IMAGE included on albums, shirts, advertisements, and other things giving the public the false impression she was a part of the group if she wasn't? Also, I don't believe you because once you were out from up under Herbie you could've rebranded yourselves without her, so something isn't adding up. So essentially you are saying you could lure everyone in with her beautiful face, and her being the 1st female dj, but you don't owe her even though she kept her part of the bargain???? You could've parted ways in the 1980s or early 90's, to pull that in the 2000's is wrong. You don't keep people around that you feel are insignificant. Btw, Spin does dj and is no different from Jam, Boof, or the other male djs. It's traditionally harder for females to get work as djs so don't pull that.

@7:46, kick rocks. Spin is an icon. go listen to "Spinderella isn't a fella shes a girl dj" She killed that Salt and Pepa album! They sure were bragging on Spin in that song for her not to be important! Case closed

This is Spinderella at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame.
Listen to this cringeworthy amateur performance and tell me why she deserved to be a part of one of the best female hip hop groups to ever grace the mic. They did her a favor by keeping her around as long as they did. Her free ride came to an end.

@7:46, Are you saying Salt and Pepa were so loving and kind they just gave a non- relative money for 30 years she didn't deserve? Wow, they must be saints. I could've sworn she was on every interview with them, including Arsenio Hall. You mean to tell me they took a non talented employee to every single interview and awards show? Where do we all sign up? If they were annoyed by Herbies choice, then why keep her after the fact since she's that awful?

Anonymous said...

She is no icon. Can you compare her to true legends. Does she measure up to Eric B? Grand Master Dee from Whodini? Jazzy Jeff? Jam Master Jay? DJ Kool Herc? DJ Premier? Red Alert? D-Nice? Absolutely not.Stop trying to lable her a gold medalist when she only earned a participation trophy.

@7:54, you do realize that rappers sound WHACK without dj's facilitating the sound? Dj's set the tone and mood. Without Spin or a dj period, Salt and Pepa would have that boring pukey huh-huh sound. All 3 made the group. Anyone can rap.

Anonymous said...

8:04 You have no idea what you're talking about. Herbie was always their DJ. Spin was masquerading as a DJ to give the illusion that they were an all girl band. She could have never came up with the music behind Salt and Pepa songs. She isn't even remotely capable of that.

Anonymous said...

@8:04, Whatever. If Spin is a fraud, then so is Salt and Pepa because Herbie wrote and produced for them too because they were not capable of doing it all alone. Most rappers don't write 100% of their lyrics or produce 100% of their sounds 100% of the time, and so by YOUR definition they are all frauds. Lol. Thanks for clearing that up. If they didn't like Herbie's choice, why didn't they drop her once they left him? Oh that's right, they like paying people to do nothing. Jokes aside, we all love Salt, Pepa, and Spinderella. They will forever be a part of our childhoods. They are icons, but I wish they wouldn't have tarnished their image. You can't tell us a girl who has been there since 1987 is insignificant. So according to you, they let her play pretend dj all of those years? I don't buy it. I think she was young and she got mistreated. A lot of group members dislike one another but they protect their legacy. You have a beautiful evening. Great convo. Good insight. God bless.

At the end of the day Spin absolutely deserves the acknowledgment and the FACT that so many of the groups fans have expressed this shows they were wrong to treat her as the help.

If she was truly talented it would be undeniable. There would be nothing they could do to take that away from her. She would also have multiple streams of income because other musicians would still wnt to work with her like other iconic DJ's. She never lived up to her pretend image and she had 30 years to do so. Salt and Pepa are both legitimate rappers. Listen to Spinderella spin live. It's pretty sad. She's an imposter. Look up Dunning-Krugere effect. It describes her perfectly. Blessings. You take care as well.

Millions of people loved Milli Vanilli too. The public is sometimes deceived. Spin didn't contribute enough to continue to get paid like a legitimate DJ. Go listen to her spin live on youtube then you will understand.
