Chrisette Michele Calls Singing at Trump's Inauguration the Wrong Thing to Do

Back in 2017 R&B singer songwriter Chrisette Michele accepted an invitation to sing at Donald Trump's inauguration against the advice of her family, fans and music peers [click here if you missed that].

In hindsight Chrisette admits she made the wrong decision...

In an interview with popular Youtuber Terrell, Chrisette continues to insist she had no ill intent and that her only goal was to unite the country and that she naively believed she had the power to do so. Chrisette also admitted the backlash put a serious strain on her new marriage causing it to end.

Another Case Of, "Keeping It Real For The Whiteman, That Don't Give A Damn About Your Black A$$... I Guess It Wasn't Worth It.

You got greedy and stupid and lost your whole life and them white checks never came did they. Just keep on struggling. Fuck get you a white dude if he will have you. Which he won't if you have black kids. There was a reason we was against him. Your ego cost you a lot and untill you can say the truth you ain't back in. "you could unite us?" is that what you was telling folks back then? Bullshit. You wanted white validation and thought it would get you a crossover. It didn't happen. You played yourself.

Unite the country? Sis we can't even unite ourselves.

^ True that to all the above comments. You are no Harriet Tubman running the underground railroad freeing blacks to unite us to Drumps campaign . Most ppl dont even know or knew who you are or were back then and now for that matter. Just say you needed the money. But you are band for ever more. Bloop

It was a check. No fucks given.

Yes she made a extremely poor business decision, I hope things will improve for her.

Oh you don't say. Things haven't been the same career wise and everybody told you.

She knew it was a bad decision but still did it anyway. On the flip side she looks cute and that's the smallest I've ever seen her.

Anonymous said...

No she does not look cute. She looks like a ball head frog.

Girl bye. You picked the wrong door and that's that. Now sashay away and come back with an album in about 10 years when everyboy's forgotten you and could give a darn.

I could understand if the opportunity to sing at the inauguration was as a solo artist, but she was 1 of like a half dozen singers singing? Like, how you gonna unite the country singing with a choir, and very little star power outside of the black community? And let's talk about unity for a moment lol smh, you were on R&B Divas (yes, I remember lol) and couldn't keep your ass out of drama and created chaos amongst other black women. But somehow your powers are strong enough to course correct inbred, delusional, redneck southern racists? Girl, stop. As for her marriage, if something this stupid can put a strain on your marriage then it was never meant to last. There are celebrities who've been blackballed for worse (Isaiah Washington, Katherine Heigl) and their marriages are still intact. Just admit you fucked up and move on.

Can't stand her, and I use to be a FAN!

Something about her aura seems so disingenuous to me. She admitted in the video she was seeking validation but she also thought she had enough power to spur change and unite a country? Ok honey. Whatever you say. I don't know how she thought that was a good move but this is why it pays to know thyself and be comfortable in your own skin before getting naked in front of others. Good luck to her though.

Say what you want that girl can BLOW! We tend to not appreciate jazz artists anyway I get why she did it.

^ We know she can sing. Thats not the debate here. Stay on topic. When you cross the BLM line of justice, for a race hater, you are canceled. It's that simple.

Did it help her career? No
Has Dump and any other Yt media promoted her? No
Case closed and so is she.
Now thats a Bloop

ok I listened to most of the interview. No hate she sounds good but gurl what were you even thinking... Today life is about way more than checks, likes and your overblown image of self. Good Luck I'm out - I had to try and explain your actions to my kids and that alone makes me pass you by

I dont think she should be cancelled as I love her voice. She's very talented. But every one of her interviews regarding this issue seemed to be rehearsed, crafted.

Nope. You STILL can't come to the cook-out. And I liked you. Now issa no. Every. Single. Time. Girl bye.

Who cares? Y'all worship celebrities who've done way worse like rape and murder people! Black folks have this woman a hard time but still listening to R. Kelly! Chrisette should've just been honest and said she needed the check. That's all.

This is one of the many reasons why I divested from the Black community.

@Dee

Bitch STFU! You'll probably invite your drunk molestor uncle to the cookout.

Oh well...never nought or listened to her music anyway.

I just wish this shit would just die.

If Yeezy sneakers can sell out in a matter of minutes, then Chrissette can make a mistake and admit to it. Move on.

@9:43pm

Bitch, no one is putting a gun to your empty head to make you comment on a blog with A majority of black women.

Don't let the door hit you in your fat, flat, flabby ass on the way out. Make your way on over to stormfront. You best believe you will not be missed here.
