Aaliyah's Mother Accuses Author of Promoting Her Book at Singer's Gravesite

Diane Haughton, the mother of the late pop star Aaliyah, closes her gravesite to fans after accusing an author of promoting her Aaliyah biography at the site...

In a message posted on social media Mrs. Haughton explains how the book badly disturbed her peace on the 20th anniversary of Aaliyah's death and because of it the site would no longer be open to fans.

Where were you Ms. Haughton when RKelly raped, impregnated and married your child? I’m NOT sorry but this has been the obvious question people aint asking! It’s simply not enough that over a dozen girls are now coming out because he picked and prayed on young girls and families who ain’t had shit and they sold their daughters to this nasty monster! But what was your excuse and why did the mother not press charges against Kelly over the years shortly after the divorce was annulled!! Some people need to be going to jail with Kelly’s nasty ass and it starts with the parents too! I have no sympathy for AAliayhs mother/parents at ALL! Her uncle who was connected to Glaydis Knight made Background records after she left Kelly. There’s too many brown ass niggas walking around not accountable! And if Aaliyah was white believe his ass would’ve been dead or in jail a long time ago! Me. Haughton you allowed this monster to go on knowing what he did to your daughter!!

It's easier to look to other's wrongdoings than it is to address your own. Rest in peace, by the way, why is Yawnce's name absent from her post ...

I agree with 9:06AM. The thing that’s gets me is (I can’t remember where I read it) “allegedly” Aaliyah’s mom has the rights to R. Kelly’s publishing.

Y'all just nosey AF and just mad because she's paying yall nosey asses DUST. She doesn't owe anyone an explanation about nothing, especially to none of you mothaf*ckas. Yall not a part of her family and y'all just want something to gossip about. Oh well keep guessing

10:29 Thank you! They have no facts
on what really happened just rumors and gossip. R. Kelly was chosen by Aaliyah to work with her. Noone knew he was a sicko pervert. But they found out the hard way and Aaliyah made the necessary moves to keep rising to the top like a true legend. She had more heart and soul and gangsta than ANY of these current wannabes. She always kept it classy no matter what was going on or who she was behind the scenes. Take notes bitches!

No disrespect to this woman's life, but why so much controversy over her. Her singing and songs were just okay. She was no Whitney or Luther V. they had hits and could sing.

Did she call them "comrades"????? Her mother is a fucking over the top weirdo. This is nothing more than grandstanding in the spirit of Aaliyah.

As much as I enjoyed Aaliyah as an artist, sadly she was a pass-around and her parents didn't do a damn thing to shield her from a flurry of predators (Kelly, Jay, Dame & Timbaland). Aaliyah's legacy was tarnished the minute she ran off and got married at 15 y.o. to a sexually deviant predator. But folks overlooked all of it because RK was rubbing elbows with powerhouses like Jordan & the Jacksons, and Aaliyah's PR team did an outstanding job at dampening her past and revamping her image.

The industry also overlooked all of the debauchery because she was well on her way to becoming a mega-star and making tons of money for them. She would've given Beyaki a run for her money IMO because even though they were on the same level talent-wise, she was much more relatable, appealed to a broader urban market, was more down to earth and friendly, was a better actor (albeit marginal) and dancer, and she wasn't a threat because her handlers already knew she could be manipulated. But that's another story.

I don't think the mother is that upset about what happened at RK's hands and she really doesn't care about protecting Aaliyah's legacy. Aaliyah has no heirs and we all know her torrid backstory. I really believe she misses living vicariously through her daughter and she misses her gravy train. Ad if she feels guilty and regretful about anything, it's about that.

That her fault. Y’all didn’t wanna give the fans anything tor 20 years so now white folks are making books and movies and shit so they can get paid off Aaliyah’s legacy. That’s the game and hustle

@12:52PM.....I feel the same way. It's sad she lost her life at such a young age but the music she made was okay. I'm of a different demographic than the one she catered too. Still sad that she had a tragic passing.

Everyone loved Aaliyah sooooooo much but they treated her like horderves on a platter at all the industry parties. Now if she was with filthy dick R and then passed around just let that sit.
