For years fans have been patiently waiting for the late recording artist Aaliyah's music to be available on streaming platforms [click here if you missed that].

The wait is finally over...

The family must need money. Doesn't any one want work. Her generation has grown up and moved on. This Z generation doesn't know that much about her. Let her rest in peace.

^^9:57 Not the family per say, her trifling uncle Barry Hankerson who needs a foot up his azz and a fist down his throat.

Nah, there is way more to this story than meets the eye. Aaliyah was virtually an independent artist. Only her first album is linked to a major label. That made her a VERY powerful asset. You think these major labels wanted this? Funny how that plane went down, huh?

Yo, I've always wondered why her music wasn't available more widely after her death. But you're right, Aaliyah was an independent artist signed to her uncle's label. And in the era of social media, music streaming, he does have good controlling power in the market. It's crazy though how quickly (allegedly) the entertainment industry will kill or have someone killed for an artist's royalties or the ability to control their estate smh. Instead of the #metoo they need to start independent investigations of artists who died (whether murdered or accidental). But sadly money moves the world and a lot of incidents we'll never know the truth about smh

If money was the move, wouldn't this have already happened?? Why would someone "have her killed" just to sit on her estate for 20 yrs with barely any blips about her or her music or legacy in the media? As far as I know, they haven't released much posthumous music or unofficial biographies about her that makes it look like they're trying to capitalize. I'm just confused at them being money hungry being the motivation behind this because it doesn't match how they've moved over the years to me.

Also I am a fan and I'm excited to be able to stream some of my favorites from her. Long overdue.

A lot of people belong in jail in the industry.

Why say let her rest when they said release her music. Beyond reckless people. Looking like what Panache report..

If you are a fan let her music get released. I see a bunch of hungry sub bloggers and Beyonce supporters on this thread.

I never understood why folks bitched about not being able to stream her music when you can literally hear the shit on YouTube. And yeah her wicked ass uncle only doing this to make money and promote his new artist and revise his old record label.
