Regina King's Son Commits Suicide

Heartbreaking news for Regina King fans; her 26-year-old son has taken his own life...

Last night B. Scott was the first to report that Ian Alexander Jr. had committed suicide one day after his 26th birthday.

Regina King shared Ian with her ex-husband Ian Alexander Sr.

Ian is Regina's only child.

I know this sounds ridiculous, but I wonder what could have been so bad about his life? What was his tremendous pain? He probably lived a pretty privileged life... Was it just ill mental health? He seemed happy and well rounded. Why did he feel his life was so inadequate? Did he have children? Drug abuse issues? Baby momma drama? Gay?? Disease?? RIP young soul, may you have peace. Love and light to you Regina King and family.

Surprised when TMZ isn't first to report something about black folks.

Devastating would be an understatement. It could have been anything @6:31 PM. There's probably a history of one thing or another. Troubled no more, young man.

Why no post on Ronnie Spector's life and recent death? She died January 12, 2022. Spector was a Black woman, a singer with classic hit songs, and called by some the original "bad girl of Rock & Roll."

Remember Kristoff St John? His son committed suicide and he never got over it, the day Kristoff died he was on the phone with his ex-wife and telling her that his son (dead son) was at the door and wanted to take him for a walk. He was later found deceased. I pray Regina is surrounded by love. The more I see pictures of Ian he always had the same smile and same expression on his face, it could have been a mask concealing some great pain. To kill yourself ON your birthday... Wow that's so deep. So his birthday will forever be the anniversary of his death. Rest In Peace young brother.

@1st comment MONEY & ACCESS don't always equate to Happiness. Mental illness & depression can go unrecognized, untreated & take over!

@gg57 WTF sites & Who TF you following that said this sh*t you repeating???? Use your own brain! the current environment of isolation has amplified depression & mental illness..

He was living larger than the average life, with many friends, a living iconic mother, a own luxury homeplace, lovable pup named Earl, and a promising career as a deejay & electro dance music artist. He had it all it seems. Btw, his music is very good! I am devastated he chose to end it all, leaving shattered hearts and broken promises. My condolences & R.I.P. Sweet Angel.

@ 6:31

Depression will take you out and it does not care who you are or how much money you have. On the outside he may have had it all but inside his head his world was chaos.

@10:56 AM, anyone can be depressed. I will say though it's possible he wasn't earning his own way. He was a DJ apparently but live events have been slack for two years, was his career banging before?

Being 26 years old and not being able to sustain yourself is depressing as fuck

@ 11:31 You are absolute! Right now I know of a person who chain smokes cigs and drinks beers repeatedly 7 days a week. They say it's due to bad nerves but i digress. It's to the point where their eye whites have turned brown and speech is slurred permanently. It seems suicidal to me. I know the person is hurting and is depressed and needs an intervention before it's too late because it is a stronghold they can't or are not willing to break.

@1:15 - No doubt the pandemic and quarantine shutdown has affected many people's mental state. Your discernment is on point. He might have struggled with feelings of worthlessness or a lack of confidence in his showmanship. Something tells me he wanted a successful career but also feared what comes with it. We may never ever know the real reason why.
