The life of the late fashion icon André Leon Talley was celebrated on Friday at an invitation only service held at his longtime house of worship, The Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem....

All this love! Mhmph! When he was struggling to keep his house they were silent. When he called out to Anna she curbed him and broke his fat ass heart. Now they love him?

Kind of agree with ^^. Was just thinking that the eviction is probably what stressed him out to the point where his immune system was compromised. Then there's the obvious but I was thinking just about everyone in attendance is a fashion veteran and if they were to donate a small percentage, he probably could've kept his house. They treated him like a novelty but appeared to have turned their backs in his time of extreme need.

Um.Um. Abyssinian could have given him the money or an apt after he donated paying tithes all those years. The math ain't mathin. Jesus make sure Mr. Talley has a mansion in heaven. This doesn't seem right.

Welp ALT, they all came out for you after you were gone but if only they were all there when you really needed someone to pick up the phone. Nonetheless, it was a beautiful service. Rest well.

VOGUE USA AKA WINTOUR SHOULD BE CANCELLED. Stupid ass Hip-Hop artist like JayZ calling out Anna Wintour and Tom Ford and all these white crake's love our style, beauty and face we give, but still treat blacks like crap! What we need to be angry about and cancel Anna's a ss is the shit her crakkka ass pulled on Black History Month, that BITCH PUT KIM K ON THE COVER and not Naomi Campbell, who just had a baby and was RIGHTFULLY placed on British Vogue with her new baby (probably surrogate/eggs). FUCK THESE CRAKKKAZ and Rihanna, Kanye and all of them should get together and shut the shit down on them. These young kids ain't looking at Vogue but ol ass CRAKKKAZ with month and dumb negoes who keep patronizing them online, Instagram and steady touting them in music and our culture. RIP MR. TALLEY You are Gods Fashion King.

Didn't this man die in mid January? They're having services now?

He struggled to remain in a home that belonged to someone else. To help him stay there would benefit the owner more than him. Maybe his rich, wealthy and influential friends could have helped him move. He should have downsized or lived within his means. Perhaps he was too proud or uppity for change. He had opportunities to own a home if he really wanted one. Too late now.

It is not unusual to hold a memorial service at a later date, especially knowing that the corpse will not be present. This is common. Things still have to be coordinated, reserved, scheduled, etc., so there is no need to rush if there is no body to view. It’s about people coming together to celebrate and remember the life of the deceased.

Most of y'all speaking facts about how he was treated in life compared to death. I'm not here for all the celebrating and falling on top of caskets after someone's gone but I suppose not celebrating him would've looked bad on them so here we are and whoomp there it is. Hopefully he is at peace where he rests. He was truly one of a kind.
