Kelis Trolls the BeyHive

Last week pop star Kelis whipped the BeyHive into a frenzy after putting Beyoncé on blast for not having the decency to give her a heads up that she was sampling her music for the Renaissance album, despite Kelis no longer owning the rights to her publishing [click here if you missed that].

Kelis continues to stir up the hive...

...by posting a video on Instagram rocking out to Beyonce's 'You Won't Break My Soul.'

I don't think that was her intention but love her regardless!!

Beautiful hair.

It was definitely her intention, after she let Beyonce have it the other day for stealing her song. I still think there's something deeper between Kelis and Beyonce because Beyonce has used Kelis music on several occasions, seeminly with underhanded circumstance.

Diamonds on my neck. Diamonds on my records.

Beyonce has used and/or stolen a lot of ideas. Go to Youtube. Put in "Beyonce Steals" A lot of clips will come up.

Why stolen? She cleared it legally. Maybe impolite for not giving a heads up.

I also think it is deeper than this...I made this comment in the other post, but I'll repost here:

According to her, she was signed when she was in high school. She wrote most of her songs. Pharrell verbally told her that it would be a 33% split in terms of publishing, royalties, etc. but her contract left her out of the split. She was young, didn't have a lawyer, and just believed him.

Her only big mistake after this is that she should have had Nas assist her with buying her masters back. At this point she could do what Taylor Swift did and rerecord her songs to a slightly different beat under her own label and have her fans buy that album. But one thing I didn't know is that she tours heavy and for many years, and sells out large arenas in Europe--she's very famous over there.

It's interesting that Kelis' argument against Beyonce (lack of acknowledgment) is quite similar to one of Nas' argument against Jay Z--that his image was made from copying others (Jaz O and Biggie). I wonder given Jay Z's and Nas' old beef, why would Beyonce sample a Kelis' song and not reach out if she was really inspired--unless she was really being petty. Work with Pharrell but not contact Kelis.

She can troll those Queens at her own risk. If one of them crazy MF get a hold of her hair and pull a patch out by the root, she will not be flossing on the net.

She has every right to call out BeyondTurd. That bitch is not mafioso and Kelis doesn't live in the States anyway. Ridiculous crazies need to get a life. Beyonce's album sucks ass anyway, her songs are not even getting radio play in NY except for that dreaded Break My Soul.

11:31a - I screamed! Don’t do Kelis like that.

I think the rivalry comes with Kelis and Nas having raw uncut talent, unlike Jay Z and Beyonce. Their talent is polished and commercial. Everyone wants what they can't have. Kelis can write a song from start to finish. Beyonce cannot. Nas can write album after album Jay Z cannot. Jay Z admires Nas, this is a FACT! I am sure Beyonce wishes Nas wanted her. Truth be told Beyonce and Nas would have been a more loving couple. But Beyonce is too shallow for Nas. I bet she hated Kelis got him instead.

Destiny Child was in Nas and Ginuwine's " Owe me back" video back in the day so....

I used to love Kelis style; cause she's never been a vocalist. She definitely started the trend of getting famous based on mostly vibes.

@11:59 Are you a gypsy? Your crystal ball has faded. That made up story you just said sounds very fictional. Take a nap Boo.

What's hard to understand about Kelis, who didn't write, arrange or produce the song, has no ownership of it. She's delusional but is definitely now riding the wave of Beyonce. Beyonce listed her in the credits as "performed by" because that's all she did, while rightly crediting the Neptunes as writers, and owners of said song.

I mean, she called Beyonce stupid and Satan but at least she has the business acumen to own her music. While Kelis worries about folks copying her style she missed that very important business class.

You speak nothing but FACTS! Everything that heifer and her demon do is stolen and manufactured. Nas only came after Jay Z with Ether only because Jay Z kept dissing him on track for no reason, and this was when Nas' mother was in the hospital battling cancer. He wasn't even going to address it, but the streets kept asking when he was going to respond.

It's Beyonce lack of creativity that makes her so desperate that she has to be "inspired" by everyone, when she's supposed to be so fucking innovative.

And Nas is the one that couldn't date Beyonce because of her stink breath--he said he honestly couldn't get past it. It could have been when they did that video lol

Beyonce and Nas were label mates Kelis would be at the same events as Beyonce so they were in the same circle. Imagine if Beyonce used Alicia Keys song and did give her the respect to call her about the idea.

Hahahaha...Beyonce removed the sample. Now Kelis can go back to irrelevancy. Byeeee

Kelis stays booked and busy. She stays touring huge arenas in Europe. She aint checking for this birdbrained bitch. Beyonce album is tanking in the first week with only 1 song on the radio. That Church Girl song is all stank and blasphemous. All hype, no substance.

Anonymous said...

#1song and #1album is not tanking. It's unfortunate Kelis is contract illiterate but let's not diminish Bey"s accomplishments.

corny ass album is underwhelming. so she pushed Chloe's album back for this?

Anonymous said...

it's so stupid that people think that music careers start, flourish, and end with Beyonce--fucking lunatics.

What's higher than #1?

Hmmm... Bought and/or Blackmail for awards (that's what Kanye said). Buys spins and/or Blackmail to claim / appear to be #1? Not a stretch. 🙄😕

What's higher than #1?

Being one of the artists who inspired the #1 album.

Back to the farm she goes. There she can play with her hair and nails, not Beyonce.

Perhaps Beyonce could finally cure her halitosis breath with her billion dollars.

Please leave Kelis alone. Y’all beehive don’t want that authentic smoke.

Own your music…. that’s a start. The bitterness stems from the fact that she wasn’t intelligent enough to negotiate ownership of the music she was performing, and therefor, CANT BE PAID FOR IT. That’s not Beyoncé’s fault, or any other artist that samples her music…. ITS HERS. Get off of the internet, stop selling that BS merchandise, and get with your lawyers and put more effort into owning your masters, dummy!
