André Leon Talley Eviction Halted by Diane Von Furstenberg

Less than a year before fashion icon André Leon Talley passed away from Covid19 he was nearly evicted from the home he'd lived in since 2004 [click here if you missed that].

Now it has been revealed that his dear friend, designer Diane Von Furstenberg, stepped in to save the day...

Page Six hears that Diane Von Furstenberg wrote a big old check to save her pal André Leon Talley from being evicted from his home before he died.
Talley made headlines in the last years of his life because his one-time friend, former Manolo Blahnik head George Malkemus, claimed he was hundred of thousands of dollars behind on rent for the Westchester mansion he leased from Malkemus and his partner Anthony Yurgaitis.
But sources say superstar designer Von Furstenberg stepped in, allowing Talley to enjoy what turned out to be his final months without the enormous money troubles.
“André was one of my dearest friends,” Von Furstenberg told us when reached for comment, adding modestly, “I would have done anything for him. I would like to respect his memory and George’s for that matter. I have nothing else to say and I thank you for respecting this.”

Good on Diane for being a friend even in death.

I love me some Andre, but why was he flying to France all of those years to get custom made undewear and suits instead of buying a house, especially considering he only made between 150,000 to 250,000 a year in a very expensive state that charges both state and federal Income tax? I love him but you can't keep up with your rich friends when you are an employee on a salary while they have yachts, planes, and millions on hand. I would have rather Diane spent that big check on getting him a tiny house in his name as opposed to paying the Manolo guy off because he died owning nothing after 40 years of hanging with the rich. It was sad to see the man we all love fighting to stay in a home that was in someone elses name. Diane was sweet but look at how much shame he had to endure before anyone in his peer group helped. Bless Dian though because he was a grown man and she didn't owe him but she helped him anyway. She has a big heart. Black folks don't run out making others rich when you own nothing. My cousin would go buy $2,000 purses but had a poorly built townhouse in the hood. Instead of buying clothes and shoes, send in an extra house note to get it paid off quick or buy land.

Very nice gesture. Nice to hear that there are still good friends, people in the world.

All those big named designers gave him the ole heave hoe when he left Vogue.
Prada, Valentino, Karl Lagerfeld are just some of the Yt devils that smiled in his face and acted like a friend to get features in his column.
Low life Yt trash.

BIG-uP to DFV....i can attest that Diane is one of the few designers that's humble & pleasant in an industry of 2-faced, phony ass kissers....
My interactions with her & her "diverse" team was suprisingly pleasant.
She was so receptive to new young black talent....GOOD Look!
