Diddy Interested in Buying BET

Last week it was announces that media moguls Byron Allen and Tyler Perry were interested in buying the majority stake in BET [click here if you missed that].

Now Sean 'Diddy' Combs has tossed his hat in the ring...

From Variety
Sean “Diddy” Combs is entering the race to buy BET, joining fellow media moguls Tyler Perry and Byron Allen as they vie to purchase a majority stake of BET Media Group amid reports that owner Paramount Global is exploring a sale of the asset, Variety has confirmed.
Run by CEO Scott Mills, BET Media Group includes BET, BET+, VH1 (which was moved under the group in a restructuring at Paramount last November) and BET’s production arm, BET Studios.
A source close to Combs tells Variety that the global music icon and record executive turned multi-industry entrepreneur is “exploring the opportunity to purchase BET as a part of his strategy to build a Black-owned global media powerhouse.”

Poor Caresha, he gonna start throwing up on you now.

If he buys BET none of his employees will get paid. This is a selfish man. It will be worse than Musk owning twitter. He’s never married because he only loves himself. When they change the laws he’ll marry himself

He will have his new baby mother's family running the place, no blacks at BET, and nobody is getting paid. Something about him is so disgusting

Good for HIM.

It's obviously gonna go to Tyler. You'll see.

It's a shame that no one with BETs best interest will be in charge. Diddy gad revolt network and made an Indian woman CEO because he felt like he couldn't trust a black person in that role lol smh. If he buys BET it will be more of the same; a non blk person in position of authority over black staff. I don't trust Diddy because he screams black excellence but dates, breeds, non blk - I'm sick of his ilk

When are ya’ll going to realize people like Diddy, Jay-Z, Kanye, Dr. Dre, Drake and Chris Rock DO NOT LIKE BLACK PEOPLE. They do not trust black people and think black people (especially women) are beneath them. They use black people for clout, attention and at times guard dogs. BET represents exactly what they want to destroy- black people.

That’s a lie @9:16. I worked for him at Revolt and trust me everyone gets paid WELL. Stop it.

Reading these comments I am disturbed how y’all really feel about our successful black people. Now I know Diddy isnt perfect and probably has had his moments where he has made decisions that benefit himself way more than others. But let’s be real no one is perfect and we will all have to answer for ourselves on our day or reckoning. In the mean time let the man live and at the very least don’t pile on BS just cause it sounds good. To 9:37, 10:50 and 11:29 please stop with the “He hates black people” thing. First off, the woman who is running Revolt got her job AFTER Keith Clinksales (a BLK man) resigned his CEO position. Second, Diddy employs MANY MANY black individuals across Bad Boy Worldwide and pays them well and on time. Third, to say Diddy looks down on BLK women is crazy because he put the WHOLE responsibility for marketing Ciroc (a major part of his portfolio so you know it is very important) in the hands of 4 BLK women including Dia Simms the CEO of Blue Flame Marketing for years He specifically promoted these women to give them the responsibility and look at how successful they have been! And to top it off I have heard this man, on many occasions, get in the A** of YT corporate types telling them they are old and out of touch and need to listen to the young BLKs around them. Y’all need to stop running with these false narratives because y’all wanna jump on the bandwagon of “Diddy is trash”, he’s not. He’s human. He came from nothing, he figured out how to make something and he’s still figuring out his life… just like we all are. Let the man live.

Another Drink Champs! No ma'am. Drunken fools that don't know how to interview.

@12:00 Just cause he’s Black and rich don’t make him competent. Also don’t make him a trustworthy person.

@12:00 we’ll why does all these Bad Boy artists are complaining about how they didn’t get paid. Diddy is all about himself. I remember when he wanted Barack to wear one of his suits to his first inauguration and he didn’t. It says she when Barack will deal with Jay Z before Diddy but then again Jay has BeyoncĂ©.

@12:00 Diddy is almost 60 and still trying to “figure” his life out? WTH

I pray to God he doesn't win that bid. I don't respect him and he already has that mediocre network Revolt. He should invest his time in what he already has.

Byron, not Bryan.

Who's next?

Diddy not trustworthy, period. He has shown time and time again that he's only loyal to his own ambitions. He's never known what it's like to sacrifice for something greater than himself - hence why he's almost 60 still playing boyfriend to women young enough to be his granddaughter. Diddy hasn't contributed anything to black culture except babymamahood. He has no problem bast@rdizing black American culture, but can't be bothered to marry and set an example for black men smdh. He will have bad BET ran like a wh0re house.

I really hope Byron gets it. I love how he is okay staying in the back and letting other folks shine. On that comedy show he did, he was always okay letting the comedians shine. Sure, he had his one-liners, but he always passed the mic. Puffy and Tyler would use BET to center themselves and their projects, that's just who and how they are. Byron is going to put everyone in place, and let them do their jobs, and stay in his lane. We don't even hear about Byron, unless he's buying something and that's the kind of leadership BET needs at this point. Please God, pick Byron Allen.

6:53, it reminds me of when J. Anthony Brown left the TJMS and ended up on the Steve Harvey Morning show. It became clear early on that Steve wasn't okay with sharing the spotlight with someone funnier than him. Some people just need the limelight and if you give them an inch, they just gotta take over. Puffy is going to have all 50-11 of his kids everywhere. He's going to give tv shows to all of his people. He's going to be dancing all over the place. He's going to shove his new recording artists down our throats. He's already got Revolt, and the only thing I know about it is that it's Puffy's network. Sometimes you just need someone to quietly helm the ship, and in this case, the best person of the 3 is clearly Byron.

Snitch why did you remove my comment?

@4:54 thank you. Byron is a better person than those two. Tyler doesn’t even have time for his son and suppose to be baby mama. Can’t nobody tell him nothing cause he won’t even hire other writers. He wants to be in full control. He and Diddy are one of the same. People are going to be fired with either one of these down low brothers

Look at how he did the Bad Boy artists. All of them. As much as he pretends, Sean is NOT for the culture. Nah, I'm good. I'd rather have Tyler or Byron.
