Last week the Duke and Duchess of Sussex claimed they had been chased through the streets of New York for two hours by aggressive teams of paparazzi [click here if you missed that].
News correspondent Gayle King finds it troubling that the incident is being downplayed in the media...

Gayle King thinks it’s “troubling” that people are “downplaying” the two-hour paparazzi chase her pals Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were involved in earlier this week in New York City.
“I think it was a very unfortunate incident,” the CBS journalist exclusively told Page Six Saturday at the 148th Preakness Stakes in Baltimore, Md.
“It’s troubling to me that anybody would try to downplay what that would mean to them. That’s very troubling to me.”
Referring to the slew of media personalities and celebrities who have spoken out against the narrative that the two were “chased” in the streets of Manhattan, King said it’s unsettling that some are trying to “minimize how [Harry and Markle] felt in that moment.”
“I’m just really sorry it happened and very sorry they had to go through it,” said King, who was in Baltimore preparing to give a commencement speech at her alma mater, the University of Maryland, this week. “Everybody can have all of their opinions but I always go back to, ‘How did they feel in that moment?’”

The issue is H & M’s pr people framed the story wrong. They weren’t “chased” in the classic sense but they were swarmed and couldn’t lose their followers for an extended period of time. If you’ve ever been in the vicinity of an A list celebrity when photographers are fighting to get a money shot you know how dangerous it can feel.

No. I don't feel sorry for them Gayle. They are super rich. And need a better plan. Plenty other waaaay more important issues in NYC and the world. They are gonna be alright. They are not Princess Di who was taken out on purpose....if you wanna be really real.
Gayle's and Oprah are not slick. They act like two aunties to the Harkles but when they are alone probably snicker and make fun of them. Gaslight tf outta them, Oprah is good for that. Still got Monique on her neck about the bs she pulled with her family. I cant take Mo but that was completely disrespectful. anything for a story. Car Chase in NYC/ They could have just went to a place hung out and went in 4 different fully black cars and went into security entrances and gotten lost.
A car chase was possible to me because people keep empathizing a car chase never happens when that’s not true. Depends on the type of car chase and scenario. Paparazzi are a little more strategic in maneuvering thru traffic to get pics. Gayle is giving them that consideration in how they we’re feeling then.
Gayle is so goofy and I can barely stand goofy people.
