Beloved character actor John Beasley passes away at age 79...

John Beasley, the actor best known for his work in the TV shows The Soul Man and Everwood, as well as a long string of memorable film roles, has died. He was 79.
The veteran character actor's son, Mike Beasley, confirmed the news on Tuesday with a heartbreaking post on Facebook, paying tribute to his late father.
"Man...you know this is a part of life...but that doesn't make it any easier," Mike wrote. "I lost my best friend today. They say you shouldn't ever meet your heroes because they don't turn out to be who you thought they were. That is so wrong. My hero was my father."
"Thank you for everything. I hope I made you proud. Love you more," he added, alongside a photo of himself with his arm around his smiling father's shoulders.

What an incredibly talented actor. His role along with Robert Duvall & Farrah Fawsett in The Apostle was spectacular. I enjoyed the work of Mr. Beasley and I hope he's resting peacefully with the Lord.

I have always thought they casted actors especially character actors to stand alone alike a guy to play the dad who like a typical dad and we as viewers buy into him being the dad because he gave off the dad vibe or reminded us of a dad either our own or another that we knew. One movie John Beasley was in was "Walking Tall" with The Rock and he pulled of his part as an actor convincingly but also his style of acting or maybe his personality made him fit well and his interactions with The Rocks character seemed sincere, but on top of that his ethnically ambiguous look alongside The Rocks ethnically ambiguous look made it even more authentic because unlike most movies with the 30ish white guy playing a 20 something white guy as the main character alongside a 50something white guy playing the 40ish dad role Soley because he is white and mostly because he is a well know face and it will give the viewing audience something to chatter about around the dinner table at Starbucks or around the water cooler at work even though the two characters are nothing alike share nothing in the way of mannerisms or physical appearance John Beasly and The Rock seemed to be a real father and son, tip my hat to the late Jonh Beasley for filling out the rest of the job description as a true thespian the similar look was a given and beyond his or anyone else's control but he brought the goods on everything else.
