Supreme Court Strikes Down Affirmative Action

The U.S. Supreme Court reveres affirmative action after 62 years...

The Supreme Court on Thursday set new limits on affirmative action programs in cases involving whether public and private colleges and universities can continue to use race as one factor among many in student admissions.
The court held, in an opinion for the conservative majority written by Chief Justice John Roberts, that Harvard and UNC's admissions programs violate the equal protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment.
The vote was 6-3 in the UNC case and 6-2 in the Harvard case, due to the recusal of Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson. Jackson had served on the board of overseers at Harvard, where she earned her undergraduate and law degrees.
Jackson, Justice Sonia Sotomayor and Justice Elena Kagan dissented in the two cases.

Benefitted yt women more than us? Y’all need a history lesson. This has disastrous implications for black children. But then, you people seem more concerned about Nicki than you do about the future of education.

White women will continue to benefit from Affirmative Action because what was struck down today is "race-based" Affirmative Action, not "gender-based". Today's decision is based on race, not gender.

This is awful and horrific. They are trying to push us back to Jim Crow. And Uncle Clarence is leading the charge!! I for one, won't go backwards quietly.
Props to the women on the Court who tried.

Im not sure what to make of this ruling at first glance the history of this country not the outright story given but the facts that the history the outcomes in judicial and social norms and parameters display this is to follows a long list of supporting events, history and facts that scream that people of African descent in this country be they decedent's of enslaved prisoners of wars kidnapping piracy whatever you would like to call it or descendants of aboriginal who traveled from the African continent those same aboriginals called Malugens, Natives who occupied this land hundreds and hundreds of years before Columbus arrived and who lived with, among and alongside those we Native Americans, those same people spoke of in the memoires of almost every one of the early explores from Europe who visited this land are valued only in equal amounts as to the comfort and usefulness they can provide for white people that is the obvious policy of this country and I am not saying this but social and judicial policies as well as the history of this country say this and I challenge anyone to prove different based on those things sure many individuals of this land have changed in attitude and behavior since its inception a great deal but the extreme element that is holding on to that way of thinking is not letting go and will never acknowledge the institutional racism that is baked into the cake of this government, constitution and judicial system doing so would cause a ground swell of sentiment for repair of this and that can't happen on their watch, that all being said this on the surface appears to be the justice the poor white and white working class needs to feel they are getting a fair shake but at the same time appears to be the judiciary doing no less than exactly what is expected by not giving people of African decent anything special this is proven true by the countless number of Asian and Pacific Island decent people who are happy to feel protected and wouldn't change a thing but still openly wonder why with the history of terrorism and violence carried out against people of African decent in this country there still is no equal protection for people of African decent but I digress the point I was making this appears to be the white people in this country being reassured they are priority number one above all other groups but also appears to give a life line to people of African decent still by allowing them to entertain and plead the poor ole lil black me my momma was a crackhead and I neva knew my daddy he was in prison befo I was born" story and receive some consideration all the while appeasing all of the immigrant groups who have a story similar coming from some low income ethnic community or a story of struggle they know first hand or had to live with the reprecussions of because happened in the previous few generations of their families this is just like for people of African decent who were freed from slavery 'WITH THE EXCEPTION OF" this is no different they give the appearance of change without giving any real change you see now they get to determine who is worthy of the prize and be entertained at the whoa is stories of all of the poor people of color they and still be able to view us all in a way that makes them comfortable with who they like to see us as and if the day comes that they see these stories becoming to close to what average white american goes threw they can close the spicket this is nothing more than a rouse to keep control of the levers of power because the demographics that made this unnecessary in the have shifted and they will soon be a minority by population

Contd: this is no different than them giving us Obama to appease the disenfranchised populations of people of color specifically those of African decent who were growing tired of the disenfranchisement and disregard and not to leave anyone out they gave us Trump who was did the same for every disenfrachised and/or poor person who was not a person of color but in some cases persons of color who identified with the struggle of the disenfranchised of the country who were not people of color. I was convienced for a long time that people of African decent in this country were they most misled and confused of all but by the last two election have discovered the true owners of that title are not persons of African decent in this country but person of Eurpean or Angle decent in this counrty because people of African decent are aware of how we are viewed and what our counties powerful and the power structure they control thinks of us and what role they want to keep us in but even more mislead is the poor an d working class of Americans of European/Anglo decent because they are still waiting for that promised hand up they have been waiting on since the inception of this country based on them being white that is never to come. They have morphed that empty promised passed down threw the years in to a pride in being white based on the underlying premise that at some point that can be cashed in and they live along side the elite who have literally betrayed them which is displayed everyday by the millions of peolple of color who achieve great heights this is the root of the sntiment among working class and poor whites that nothing is worse than a n-word who thinks he is better than you that n-word is only living the life he has evolved into by the sweat of his own brow but at some point when the elites saw a monetary benefit in it for them they uplifted him past so many there predecessors made a promise to telling them this was there right for simply being of the same background as us elites the sooner poor white realize they are outsiders as much as every other poor person regardless of color race religion ethnicity or gender to the power broker decision makers and power structure of this country the sooner they can progress to a better place now they are only being distracted
