Who tf is requesting music on the radio in 2024???? Thats the real shocking part here. Do artists even need radio to be a success these days?

@3:21 Fans request it

As a Texan here who is a fan of Beyonce and also a fan of country music, Beyoncé’s songs do not sound like country music to me at all. She does not twang it enough or stop the runs like are necessary. I have no desire to hear her voice on country radio. Having said that, country radio is def going to refuse her. They will treat her like lil nas’ first song - a country music reject.

Desperate to beat Taylor Swift. Jay-Z does not have the power to get that lil blond blue-eyed girl to bend the knee🤣.

If she is being played on any r&b or pop stations, that will prove country music’s point. Country music has a Blk girl already who’s pretty good and pretty authentic

She needs to leave this to K. Michelle and the others.

Pop & rock stations play country music too. I used to hear Dixie Chicks playing all the time and Shania Twain.

Good for them, lol. Or, maybe they should play it, let their radio fan base get annoyed and call in and request them to please stop, then have the local tabloid review it harshly. Beyonce's fans are just being a-holes trying to manipulate local country radio stations into playing her so country fans are unwillingly forced to listen to her latest gimmick, because what Beyonce fan is really calling to request songs on the radio? is that even a thing they did for her pop-rnb songs or did they just download them and run to youtube to listen on their own. People who still call radio stations to request songs are generally everyday listeners, fans of the station and fans of the radio host, not some random beyonce fan just calling out of spite and going to social media to force their hand

Tim McGraw and Randy Travis still play on Pop and Rock stations. @3:31

There’s a large audience for radio. Alexa, play WBLS.

IDK what this sounds like. She should have sat this one out.

Zzzzzzz no matter how you slice it. No one is excited over this or even asked for this.

This is not surprising to me. These are Yt stations and support the Mega's. Most country ppl are prejudice.

I like country music, but this doesn't sound like country music, it sounds like a Beyonce take on country music. I'm just not buying it. Lil Nas X actually did sound like country music.

Country radio does not play their own women if they have Democratic politics. Bey doesn't have a chance. Plus it doesn't sound country.

All B did was confuse the sh$t out of the station they don't know what they just heard n didn't want no smoke with LGBetc . So the just be like we never got the song to play resend hee hee

Her fanatics are not their core audience.

I like the 16 Carriages. It's country blend with RnB. Just like Taylor Swift is country pop.

From my personal experience working in the radio industry, programming new songs on any radio format is based on market research. Research data for country stations shows that the core listener demographic is white and conservative. Those listeners are loyal to a fault as well, and they are slow to adapt or change. Those listeners don't want to hear Beyoncé on country stations because they perceive her as a "Black Female Pop Artist". Core demographic country listeners will literally stop listening to your station if you make significant changes that don't align with their tastes. If people stop listening, ratings go down. When ratings decrease, advertising rates drop. Essentially, you lose market share and money. These particular country radio stations are making decisions that best fit their for-profit business model.

Everybody knows country music stations are white male controlled, maga-driven and racist. Not new information.

Both of her songs are country genre. Stop the madness. Y’all weren’t deep in the comment section saying Old Town Road wasn’t Country, when the same stations and award shows tried to say Lil Nas X song didn’t match the category! And they were semi right! His song was a mix of country and rap! Yet he had mad support from the black community. You don’t have to like or love Beyoncé but don’t be a hypocrite.

Country music stations don't even play legit black country artists during peak hours. They only get air play late at night or early morning when no one is listening. They're a bunch of racists but I don't think they can weather the storm if they're openly hostile to Beyonce.

If the station plays Bey than the people won't play the station the people just go somewhere else until the songs r out of rotation now the station can deal with the drop in listeners that's all

Just like drake can act as a rapper I guess bey can be a wanna be Dolly Parton

Whether or not, the Behive is going to make sure her music gets played. They can hate all they want to.
