Documentary Confirms Lavish Spending Triggered Wendy Williams Guardianship

Two years ago it was rumored that excessive spending from Wendy Williams' son, Kevin Hunter Jr., prompted Wells Fargo Bank to file for a conservatorship, arguing that the former daytime talk show host was not of sound mind to consent [click here if you missed that].

Last night in part I of the "Where is Wendy Williams" documentary on Lifetime, Wendy's nephew admits her son spent more than $100k on Uber Eats alone...

The conclusion of the two-part series airs tonight.

Going forward Wendy is going to need resources for her health care.

Everybody on this site screamed that Wells Fargo was trying to steal Wendy's money. Looks like they knew what they were doing.

You morons obviously did not watch tne series because Kevin Jr. Was taking excellent care of her, but the second the court took her from her son , father, sister, and nephew, she rapidly declined. Don't comment until you sit through the series. Kevin Jr. Is a good son. Plus he's young. The court and gaurdian have failed her and let people around who give her alcohol. Kevin Jr forbids any alcohol. That woman needs her son and family because it johs her mind and makes her happy.

When Kevin took his mom to Miami, she was getting better. The spending during that period was because Wendy has extremely expensive taste, and by her son not knowing back then about a future dementia diagnosis, he just tried to make her happy. He was a kid. Every expense was made on the American Express card with her permission. He is several years older now and seems mature enough to understand her condition and LIFETIME has done an excellent job showing the TRUTH and that Kevin jr did no wrong. As a mom of an only child too, I'd rather have my son who is Kevin age, over me than the court who is being paid to spend my money. I'd rather my son get it than strangers.

I've watched it all. Very compelling, very insightful, very sad but there's hope. God is still in control and a change is coming. Sometimes He protects us in mysterious ways. Wells Fargo has turned out to be a savior for Wendy. Big Kev and his ho would have drained her accounts. Now look at God! Big Kev is back in the poorhouse, Sharina is back at her mama's house and the vultures are no longer feeding on Wendy.
Praying for you Wendy! This to shall pass.

The fact still remains is no one was helping her to hold off on approving the excessive spending. $100K is too much just for UberEats. Of course she was happy. She was not aware of how much money was going out. Imagine had the bank not stepped in. She would be penniless now! That’s great that Kevin Jr is a good kid but he was about to be a broke kid because he was going along with it at the time, totally unaware. Poor Wendy. Definitely needs a Conservatorship in this situation.

Ion’t know what y’all watched but the series I saw showed Wendy knew what to do (stop drinking and doing drugs) and she refused to stop. She wanted to stay stoned and forget about her problems instead of getting sober, facing her problems and getting healthy.

She only wanted people around her who she paid. She didn’t want “real” people around her, only people who would say what she wanted to hear. People who would allow her to drink and do drugs without calling her on it.

She’s quick to tell someone what she thinks but she not going to sit still long enough to hear someone else. She wanted to be in control and she was.

Thank goodness Wells Fargo stepped in. Somebody needed to.

It can happen to any of us. Stay mindful of your living habits and take care of your mind, health and body.

Delete Kev's name and insert any wyte child of a celebrity and this would not be a factor in that celebrity being held under guardianship. Kevin grew up a wealthy child; this is part of what wealth provides. It may look nuts to us, but not to them. If his mother approved every cent spent, then what's the problem?

That son of hers should be ashamed but then again, look at his daddy

Man some of y'all in these comments are giving of the vibe that if given the opportunity, you too would take advantage of a wealthy relative. Bunch of buzzards

10:07 and 10:01 - Kevin is that you? Lol how do you know all the information? Are you one of her money grubbing relatives? Obviously, Kevin wasn't taking good care of her. It's very clearly a case of financial elder abuse. You must be someone who took advantage of a family member because of how defensive you are! Lol seek help

Like another commenter mentioned, if Wendy wasn't in her right mind, she probably didn't know what she was approving. I saw that duper's delight smile Kev Jr gave when he said "not without her approval". He knew what he was doing. Like everyone else said too - she needs that money for healthcare at this point.

The Courts sealed the financial records which prompted Wells Fargo to freeze her accounts. So that being said there is much more improper spending that was done with Wendy’s money. I believe that if Wells Fargo had not stepped in to protect her assets, Wendy would definitely be broke at this time. Mainly due to her “family” spending her money like water.
