WENDY Williams' former husband Kevin Hunter Sr. felt blindsided and furious upon learning about the new Lifetime documentary on his very troubled ex.
An insider in Wendy's inner circle exclusively told The U.S. Sun that Kevin, 51, was caught completely off guard when he saw how his ex was depicted in the Where is Wendy Williams? trailer, and that he was deeply disappointed in the project.
"Kevin was shocked to see his ex-wife portrayed in such a negative light in the Lifetime trailer.
"He was also totally blindsided that their son, Kevin Jr, ended up signing onto the project after he initially said he wanted nothing to do with it."
The insider noted that Wendy's ex was dead-set against the documentary from day one, as he firmly believed it would only further diminish his ex-wife's legacy.
The former TV host left her wildly popular talk show during the 12th season in July 2021 amid ongoing health and legal battles.
Kevin, known to friends as Big Kev, told close associates that he found the scene in the trailer showing Wendy, 59, yelling over a bottle of vodka and appearing disoriented in the middle of New York City were "very sad" to see.
Kevin said he was "furious" his ex was "still being exploited to that level."
Meanwhile, the father-of-two was also sorry that his son, Kevin Jr, ultimately signed onto the project.
"Little Kev was repeatedly advised that it was a bad look to be involved in this project and that it was not in his best interest to have his name attached to it," the insider added.

Son has to start somewhere. Shout out to him for being there now. He finally realized his loser of a father caused this whole mess and has no place in his mother's business or life. Glad she has him and the rest of her family. Miss Wendy.

Yeah Mom and son got producer credits meaning they're going to get paid when someone downloads it and it airs on the 3000 streaming channels out there while he keeps getting more bills and losing lawsuits.
Anybody stupid enough to think Wendy's ex-husband cares about her being portrayed in a negative light is a fool. He only cares about the income he generated from Wendy and now that it's over, he has to pretend that he cares. He didn't care about how she was portrayed when the photos were posted with Wendy sprawled out drunk in that boutique. Nor did he care when his babymama used Tasha K to spread information about her pregnancy. He's a liar and better not drop the soap when they finally catch up to him for that insurance fraud.

Wendy is in a place of pain. Her life with the father of her son was a huge lie. She thought she could handle it until the baby came into the picture. He doesn’t want to be faced with what caused her to spiral into despair/depression. He exploited her for years pillow talking to the side piece. Dude needs to see what his selfishness caused knowing she wasn’t mentally strong.
