This week promotion for Beyoncé's upcoming Cowboy Carter album was projected onto the famed Guggenheim Museum in New York.
Apparently Beyoncé didn't notify the museum of her plans nor did she get permission...

"The Guggenheim was not informed about and did not authorize this activation,” the museum said in a statement to Complex. “However, we invite the public—including Beyoncé and her devoted fans—to visit the museum May 16–20 when we present projections by artist Jenny Holzer on the facade of our iconic building to celebrate the opening of her major exhibition."

This is BS. There is no way this was done without them knowing. That museum is located in a Lilly Yt upper crust area. I don't see them interested in ANY country music. Opera/ballet yes.

I doubt they were completely in the dark. The other museums seem cool with the exposure. If you are in NYC I highly recommend visiting the Guggenheim before the current exhibition is over 4/7. It features over 20+ black artists currently. MAD also has an exhibition featuring a black artist opening this weekend.
…I feel like this was Solange’s idea for her big sis since she is into the arts, and have performed at the Guggenheim years ago. But I could be wrong.
I think this era of you gotta have a big machine behind you to 'promote' your art is ending, and about dam time. Real art stand for itself. It needs no bright lights, bells & whistles to convince people to buy.
