Ye Denounces His Slave Name

Three years ago Chicago rapper, Kanye Omari West, legally changed his name to Ye [click here if you missed that].

In a missive sent to major media outlets, and leaked online, Yeezy CEO Milo Yiannopoulos refers to 'Kanye' as Ye's slave name and demands he only be called by his chosen moniker...

Whatever Kanye Omari West

Just go away Kanye & take that little wide, pie face daughter with you.

I’m calling you what your mother named you: KANYE. . Can’t stop, won’t stop. Take that, take that 😆

Abacadaba! Kanye be gone. Tired of seeing and hearing about you.

Goodness. This fool doesn't even know what a "slave" name is. I'll call you whatever you want to be called, but don't use enslaved people to get attention. Now you've shaded people who actually want to shed that part of their ancestry. He doesn't care who he steps on to get his way.

And Donda is rolllin' like a mf.

I’m sorry was resulting to childish name calling but, Kanye looks like he smells like dumpster juice. Sorry! But not sorry.

Kanye Omari is not a slave name. David, Robert, Steven, Alfred… those are slave names.

HAHAHAHAH this fool said slavery was a choice. No, you don't get to use slavery as a ploy. The audacity of him to use a literal white supremacist gay guy Milo Yianopolis to send out a letter asking people to no longer use his "slave name". I can't stand him

The origin of the name : KANYE
Kanye /ˈkɑːnjeɪ/ is a Yoruba, Igbo, Swahili, Zulu and Xhosa name. In Yoruba culture, the name means "next in line".[1] In Igbo culture, the name means "let's give". The name or word Kanye can also be derived from Bantu languages indigenous to the Swahili people of Eastern Africa meaning "only once"; "only one" and "to shine". In Zulu and Xhosa cultures of South Africa, UzuKhanye means "ought to shine".

So he denounces his African name ~ gotcha!

Whatever “Kunta Kinte” West.

He's so unoriginal and he's certainly NOT anywhere near a Muhammad Ali type of importance. I cannot wait until his stunts no longer have any significance.

I can not imagine the horror of having to be intimate with this wildebeest...

Kanye looks like he smells like sauerkraut.

This nicca couldn't live one day as a Kunta Kinte. Not even in his dreams.

And what's even more strange and annoying is that Ye knows exactly the meaning behind the name Kanye and Omari.
Isn't there also online footage of him discussing it with [or without] Donda present?
He is truly exhausting.

David is not a slave name. It’s a biblical name. TMH chosen children will always use/be named David.
