R.I.P. Terry Carter

When I was a child and a celebrity died, my paternal grandmother would always mention in passing, without fail, that celebrities died in threes and a macabre clock would start ticking in the back of my mind as she starting paying closer attention to daily news reports for confirmation.

Almost always, after a few days or so, two more celebrities would pass and she would look at me and say, "See, I told you," but not in a self-satisfied smug way. More in a I know what I'm talking about so you better be listening to me way.

Unfortunately we have our third this week.

Following the deaths of Christian singer Mandisa and actress Barbara O. Jones, actor Terry Carter has passed away age 95...

From Variety
Terry Carter, who played sergeant Joe Broadhurst on the TV series “McCloud” and detective Colonel Tigh on the original “Battlestar Galactica,” died at his home in New York, N.Y., Tuesday morning. He was 95.
Born John Everett DeCoste in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Dec. 16, 1928, to parents of Dominican, Argentine and African American descent, Carter would go on to become the first Black TV news anchor for Boston’s WBZ-TV Eyewitness News, where he also became their first opening night drama and movie critic. He was also one of the first Black regulars on the 1956 TV sitcom series “The Phil Silvers Show,” in which he played Private Sugarman.
Carter’s other credits include the 1970 TV movie “Company of Killers,” in which he starred alongside Van Johnson and Ray Milland, and the 1974 film “Foxy Brown” with Pam Grier.
Hit that R.I.P. tag at the bottom of this post and start counting the days between deaths.

Man, I miss my grandma so bad.

We are still saying the first to this day about opening a door that has been closed to us all our lives. It's a d@m shame.
I remember him on the old reruns of Mc Cloud as a side kick detective.
Yes, I too heard deaths come in 3 from my grandmother.

RIP to him
Deaths don't come in threes yall. People die every day, and these three random deaths have nothing in common nor were they on the same day or even in the same week. So if a random other celebrity dies tomorrow, you gonna start the clock over?? Be serious.

2:26 Somebody makes a heart felt admission about their own deceased grandmother and this is your response. That says a lot about your mother and grandmother. Everything don't have to said.

RIP to this soul brotha but I'm with 2:26PM. That whole comes in threes thing is something people say just to have something to say. His passing wasn't all that unexpected or shocking. He was 95. Geesh!

Death in threes, as well as pregnancy… takes life to give life

It’s called an anecdote or an old wives tale and if you are too young or dumb to know what that is just shut up instead of being rude dismissive and mean. But I guess you can only behave how you’ve been treated all ur life - which takes us right back to yo mammy and yo greasy granny

What happened to that cap lock person who used to demand Snitch engage more. Maybe this is why she don't do it. Can't believe Snitch sharing a memory about bonding with her grandmother got yall twisted like this. this some beyonce level hate lol
