Ashanti was an OK vocalist but her real talent was songwriting. She can write her behind off. Irv supplied her with a stove but she brought her own ingredients to cook with.
Chris Gotti has been running his mouth for 10 years. He has called himself her "groomer". He has said Irv was concentrating on Ja Rule. He and Irv didn't think that she had a big voice. Irv publicly said that she had 2 left feet.
Irv didn't do anything for the future First Lady of Murder Inc until she put her hands on her knees.
Irv bragged about being on Viagra & Ecstasy when he was dating Ashanti and making the type of music that someone else couldn't come along and out sing her.
Neither Chris nor Irv have said that he wanted to have a family or marry the Former First Lady of Murder Inc.

She never denied that he didn’t impact her career in a good way. This is disgusting behavior all because Irv was bitter she didn’t want to be his forever side piece! Let's time travel....When Murder Inc's Princess was promoting John Wick, she said it took a long time for her to meet Irv. He admitted that he was ignoring her. She said he was rude, his belly was growling and he was stuffing his face with Chinese Food.

He admitted when she stopped their personal relationship, he stopped her professional relationship. It was mutually beneficial until she moved on with Nelly. He didn't own her, and she doesn't owe him.
