A music legend from the 1980s has died at the age of 72, it has been confirmed. Cavin Yarbrough, who was part of the iconic R&B duo Yarbrough & Peoples died on Thursday, June 19, due to complications from heart disease.
His wife and longtime music partner, Alisa Peoples, paid an emotional tribute following his death. Speaking to LATF USA, she said: "He was the love of my life, my protector. Now he’s my guardian angel."
As well as being a vocalist and musician, Cavin was a producer and a pioneer who helped shape the sound of R&B in the 1980s. Alongside Alisa, the pair quickly rose to fame and got a number one hit in 1981 with Don't Stop the Music.
