Last year rapper Nelly enraged a large segment of his fanbase after agreeing to perform for Donald Trump's second inauguration [click here if you missed that].

Who didn't march with Dr. King?
He's pig-headed and no one can get through to him. So glad Ashanti has her mother or he would gaslight Ashanti the way he's tryna gaslight us.
11:21 a lot of millennials’ grandparents marched because it wasn’t that long ago. Let that be a reminder of our country’s f’d up history.
You don't have to go all the way back to MLK. Trump is an avowed racist who is stomping on the rights of every Black person in America. How you gonna support that?
He thinks the racism doesn't apply to him because he's rich. He just wants the money. But it's not a good idea. She respected him and voiced her opinion but allowed him to make his own decision.
The real issue has nothing to do with him performing for Trump. This issue is why do we care, who is really looking for performers and athletes to have some high moral compass and political advice.
^ Exactly, why DO we care?
Y'all with the Trump is racist narrative are slavish!
He's insulated from a lot of things affecting common folk because his finances and social status allow him to emotionally and physically escape.
Malcolm X's message to Black folks about celebrities & politicians is as relevant today as it was when it came out of his mouth. People didn't listen and not much has changed.
1. I love Ashanti's mama now. 2. This clip confirms why he shouldn't be supported and why I'm glad I refuse to watch this show.
I haven't liked Nelly ever since the issue where he blamed the Sisters at Spelman for his sister dying, after they wouldn't do the marrow drive. All Nelly had to do was have an open discussion about the Tip Drill video, and he refused. But somehow, he blamed the women he denigrated, not his own refusal to engage in discussion. I really do not like this dude and I'm glad they're facing backlash.
I'm not saying I would leave, if I was Ashanti, but I'd think about it. It's not so much that he did it, but he was indignant and unapologetic about making a unilateral decision that clearly impacted both of them. Two married people don't have to agree on everything, but to publicly do something that has a negative impact on your partner's career, shows where his loyalty lies. A lot of guys also get comfortable and show their behinds, once the ring comes out. If he was still on the crusade to win her back, I highly doubt he would have been so flagrant about performing.
He's uneducated and ignorant. What more is there to say? LOLO
He made a poor choice based on instant gratification and clout. He should have stood on business for the black community.
The black community isn't monolithic.
Ashanti said Nelly is a protector.
The whole scene is staged to protect her. The new narrative is Nelly made a decision without consulting his wife.
The reality is after he was caught with molly in the casino, he should be kissing his wife's a$$.
When she talks about his "big" package, you know that they are trying to push their own narratives.
The purpose of the show is to rewrite history.
Basically agree w/all the comments about Nelly. I don't even have to watch clips of what he said, I don't feel like being triggered & irritated. I saw how he was on his reality show years ago. I have nothing for Nelly or Ashanti. They are best ignored.
3:24 pm That Part!! I totally agree!!
He’s a 🤡
If he didn't learn from Chrisette Michele mistake then he want learn. I hope he enjoys the money. He might as well go full country. His audience will the Mega's.
