Singer Chico DeBarge arrested on drug charges in Burbank, CA after getting pulled over on his bicycle...

Chico DeBarge, an R&B singer whose musical career peaked in the 1980s and 1990s, was arrested in Burbank for drug possession, police confirmed with NBC Los Angeles Wednesday.
The Burbank Police Department confirmed exclusively with NBCLA that the 59-year-old, whose legal name is Jonathan Arthur Debarge, was arrested in the early morning hours of July 4 as he was seen riding a bicycle without the required lighting equipment in violation of the California Vehicle Code.
As officers investigated, they found drug paraphernalia as well as suspected narcotics in his possession.
Records showed there was also an outstanding warrant out for his arrest on a methamphetamine possession charge.
After DeBarge was booked on drug-related charges as well as on the outstanding warrant, DeBarge was released with a citation.
He’s scheduled to appear in court on Aug. 1, 2025.

Chile you can't make this stuff up. Arrested on a bicycle. Wow lawd 😆. He must have been in a drug area after just purchasing drugs. I know he was hurt to loose those druds and Fcked up his high after that arrest. All addictions are real ppl. Some folks never recover. LOLO

12:54 I'm guessing he was in a known drug area and looked suspicious with no lights on the bike at night. Arms were doing the old Harlem shake and stress wabbling for that hit on the bike.
Haha, not stress wabbling for that hit! That video Iggin' Me continues to be hilarious to this day with that prison shuffle and him awakening from a nightmare. I loved the whole 'Long Time No See' album.

This breaks my heart. I am praying for Chico and the Debarge family. Chico and his siblings are immensely talented. I pray that they are able to overcome all demons and addictions. On the bright side, he was on a bike at the time, so it is unlikely that he could have harmed himself or anyone by driving recklessly. Hopefully, this will be the wake up call that is needed and help will be available and received.

That was his 2nd album title, 5:14. Chico released his debut b4 he went 2 jail on drug charges in the 80's.

I got a concussion from being hit from behind by someone riding a bicycle. It’s not out of the question he could’ve seriously hurt someone.
Addiction is a life long struggle. Hopefully he finds some measure of peace and happiness before he leaves this world.
