IT looks like the Cotswolds is becoming the new Hollywood as several stars purchase homes in the picturesque English countryside.

After the Beckham family and Ellen DeGeneres, it’s now being reported that power couple Beyonce and Jay Z are in the final stages of purchasing 58 acres of land on the outskirts of Wiggington.

The pair, who were declared the richest celebrity couple, have reportedly received planning permission to build a “spectacular rural estate” and if they go ahead with the plans, they won’t be far from Great Tew, which is already home to huge names in the showbiz world.

However, after previous backlash from villagers over disturbances by high-profile moves, the jury is out on whether Beyonce, 44, and Jay-Z, 55, will be accepted into the local community.

A resident told MailOnline: “I don't give a flying toss,” before adding that his wife has seen the couple head into Burford Garden Centre in their Range Rovers.

“When someone points them out to my wife, her first reaction is to ask who they are. Some of these so-called celebrities I've never actually heard of.”

Another resident, who works at Great Tew’s village pub, Falkland Arms, told The Times: “We love our local clientele and we don't want the couple's arrival to bring in a different sort.”
