Diddy Pushes For Acquittal on a Technicality

Two months ago Bad Boy Entertainment CEO, Sean 'Diddy' Combs was convicted on charges of The Mann Act after prosecutors failed to convict him on RICO and human trafficking charges [click here if you missed that].

Now Diddy is demanding an acquittal or a new trial...

From TMZ
In new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, Diddy's legal team take shots at the feds as they try to make the case for Judge Arun Subramanian to change Diddy's Mann Act conviction to an acquittal or give him a new trial.
Diddy says prosecutors are using the modern definition of "prxstitution" to apply the Mann Act, a federal law that was enacted way back in 1910 ... when it was also known as the White Slave Traffic Act.
His defense says the court should be using the 1910 definition of prxstitution ... not the 2025 definition ... and Diddy says back in 1910 "a prxstitute was a woman who had six outside marriage." He says the feds' position is that prxstitution is six for hire, but the old meaning when the statute was passed was much broader than that.
The defense says the court should grant an acquittal in Diddy's case, or at least a new trial.

He may have a leg to stand on because the argument is legally valid. The prosecution can't have it both ways. They either have to try him on modern charges or prove the case based on old law. Now it's up to the court to decide if it has merit.

Nice try fellas but you can't focus solely on the original 1910 law and disregard the amendments made to it since then.

That archaic law he's using was at a time when unmarried woman having segs was considered trafficking. Good luck with that bahahaha

The Mann Act was created to stop boxer Jack Johnson from carrying his white women across state lines. It's always been a perfect trap for Black men.

No new trial. I already have PTSD from the first one.

The attorneys are correct. Since he is convicted of the archaic law "The Mann Act" they must use the definition that goes with it. The entire charges, accusation and conviction was a farce and waste of tax dollars. If they grant him a second trial, they definitely need to charge Cassie as well.
