"Catch" Controversy Broke Simone Biles

Last year Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast of all time, female or male, went viral after her husband, NFL safety Johnathan Owens, gave an interview where he claimed he'd never heard of her before they met and dubbed himself "the catch [click here if you missed that]."

Simone admits she thought the memes and comments were funny at first, but then the constant barrage of criticism slowly began to break her down...

From E! News
Nearly four months after the football player's viral interview, the Olympian shared her reaction to the public criticism and people calling for her to divorce him.
"I thought it was hilarious at first, and then they hurt my feelings," Simone said on the April 17 episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast. "And then one night, I broke down and I'm like, 'Why are you guys talking about my husband like this? Like, you don't know him. You don't know who he is. And if anybody's met him, they know he's the sweetest guy and will do anything for anybody.'"
And ultimately, the gymnast thought some of the online comments went too far.
"That really hurt that they were talking about my husband like that," she continued. "Because for me, it's like, 'Talk about me all you want, but don't come for my family—never.' Because I've been in the limelight long enough where I can brush things off, have my little powwow about it. You're not going to know I cried about it, but I be crying about some stuff. But I only cry about it because I can't clap back. Just know that."

Her husband needs PR training if he’s going to speak to the media about her or their marriage. It’s rough out here in these internet streets when you talk reckless. That was some reckless ish he said that appeared to only serve as a boost to his own ego. I wish them both the best tho!

Of course it broke her, that's what it was designed to do. I noticed Simone, the super champion, is always under attack and I'm sure her competitors want to destroy her mental health, with the hope that she can't compete. Black people would spread that BS more than anyone else and they do it to Black Olympians especially. They talk about these women's hair, make-up and relationships. Simone has been married for a very short time, they're both young, and both are learning each other. Marriage is hard enough with out the dumb outside noise and they should be allowed to work through their issues without silly gossip. Best advice: Keep your personal business offline because weak & miserable people will take a pebble and turn it into a boulder.

‘If you don’t have haters, you’re doing something wrong’

People be so blessed with God given talent using the negative energy to push them more to higher levels of success that most will never see and now she’s allowing haters to break her.with opinions of how her husband said something that shouldn’t be an issue for her. For her to break, it had to be more to it. Like, he did something to lash out at her because he felt his words were twisted. I

No. Just admit you were embarrassed because your husband made you look and feel like a fool. Don't blame the folks that saw the red flags that you didn't.
